In 2006, 37 heroin-related deaths were reported in Lackawanna County, and that number continues to grow. These statistics have prompted a public service campaign led by State Senator Robert Mellow and Lackawanna County District Attorney Andy Jarbola. There message is simple. They want parents to talk to their kids and set them straight. Tonight, Senator Mellow and District Attorney Jarbola will be on the show. We'll discuss the staggering heroin statistics in our area, and what's being done to curb the problem.
College presidents and concerned parents agree on one thing. Binge drinking on campuses is out of control. But that's where they stop seeing eye-to-eye. About 100 presidents say they have what parents believe is a surprising solution. They want to lower the drinking age to 18. It's been legal before; we'll take up the debate once again at 11.
